One of my favorite families on YouTube would be Gabrielle and Chad from GabeBabeTv. I have been watching their vlogs for a while now. I love their family dynamic with their son and now daughter, Nana, their moms, siblings, and their friends. They make me laugh A LOT and its awesome to see the ways that they (and their brand) has grown since I’ve started watching. When they said that they were starting a podcast I was excited to listen!
I have always wondered how they were able to juggle managing a family, being Influencers, Brand Ambassadors, spending time with friends and family, being involved in church and I’m pretty sure there’s a whole lot of other things that they do. In the episode Getting Things Done they answered that question.
Highlights:
Non-negotiable’s
Some of their non-negotiable’s include spending time with family and going to church. My non-negotiable’s are similar. But I had started to fall off. At my job I have a staff to manage. So I would allow them to have times off that often conflicted with my plans thinking that I could rearrange my schedule. And in the beginning it was fine but now I can see how it effects me and my family. God and my family takes precedence over everything so I have to show them that. Recently I’ve started to take those steps I just have to stick with it.
Planning
They talked about having a morning schedule and evening schedule; which I think is a great plan. I loved their transparency that the plan isn’t always executed perfectly but they continue to follow it until it becomes a habit and they have time to spend with family and make out (Chad is hilarious). Although it’s late and I have to get up early tomorrow and work at least twelve hours each day for the next four days. I plan to write, edit, and publish a new post everyday for the next four days. I’m not making any wiggle room for myself it has to be done.
Outsourcing
When they talked about outsourcing I bout’ shouted! I thought that they did every single thing as well. It was so nice to hear that they have someone help them out with things like deep cleaning for example. Shoot, it takes time to crawl up ladders to dust corners and clean cracks and crevices. So if you can hire someone to come in and take care of that it makes so much sense.
It was great to hear that they had no shame in outsourcing. Because I know for me I wanted to be able to take on so much stuff and feel like I’m this superhuman. But it wore me out to the point of not getting anything done. So trust me when I get the opportunity to do so I will be outsourcing. I love to cook so I may not outsource that but the deep cleaning will definitely be getting outsourced.
Tell Your Time Where To Go
They referenced Dave Ramsey’s saying “Tell your money where to go” and rephrased it as
“Tell your time where to go” I love that because it allowed me to see that it's so simple. All I have to do is direct my time instead of feeling like time was directing me. With working well over forty hours per week and tending to my family, my time is limited. But I just have to make my non-negotiable’s, stick to them, and consistently make time to plan where my time will go.
I love that they presented the podcast in way that made you feel empowered to go forward in your journey to get things done. None of the advice that they gave seems hard to do. You just have to find what works for you and if it doesn’t don’t worry about it, just continue. They have more podcast episodes and tons of YouTube videos. Check them out if you want some laughs, some encouragement, and a great example of a family that lives and loves (if you watch the vlogs you’ll get the reference đŸ˜€).
